A hand made rug that makes excellent floor covering. Artfully fresh contemporary feeling that compliments any decor. Imported from India. Rug pads or grips are recommended (but not included) to prevent slipping.Numdah rugs are made of unspun wool or wool and cotton pressed and felted in specific proportions.
The art of Numdah came fromYarkand and Sinkiang regions of Central Asia during Silk Route Trading days. It stayed to become an indigenous craft of Kashmir. The felt is embroidered with a hook in bold designs and assortment of colors. The sizes range from 2'x3' to 6'x9' in square, rectangular and in round and oval shapes. This art was later enhanced by Kashmiri craftsmen by adding colorful embroidery to give it a warm and cozy feel. The colors are rich. The designs are vivid. Intricately detailed multicolored patterns.
